Köpings Div. 2 team lost a hard-fought battle to Aros 72-63 in the final game before the Christmas break Sunday at KB-hallen.
Köping had dug themselves out of a 22-point halftime deficit, trailing 43-21 at the break. The home team then outscored Aros 42-20 behind the outstanding shooting of Simon Klaasma (31 points) and a huge team defensive effort, to tie the score at 63-63 with less than 90 seconds remaining. But that was as close as Köping would get as Aros held on for the win.
With the loss, Köping dropped to fifth place with a 5-5 record in the Norra Svealand Div. 2 standings, right behind fourth place Aros with a 6-4 record.
Köping returns to action on January 13 when they travel to Husby in Stockholm to face the unbeaten (8-0) Husby Lions.
