The Köping Basket men’s Div. 2 team evened their record at 1-1 after losing to a veteran Husby Lions team from Stockholm 79-61 Saturday morning at KB-Hallen.
Köping jumped out to a 7-2 lead before the speed and experience of the Lions began taking a toll. Husby moved ahead 17-14 by the end of the first quarter and then extended it to 36-23 at the half as Köping’s long distance shooters went cold.
The second half saw Köping claw back into the game, closing the gap to within seven points before Husby pulled away again for a comfortable 18-point win.
Leading point getters for Köping were Leo Wilhelm with 15 points, Simon Klaasma 14, William Sundh 11, Abbas Ibrahim, 8, Ghaith Kayali 8 and Wictor Sundh 5.
Next game for Köping is Saturday, October 6 when they travel to Stockholm to face Spånga (0-3).
