Köping Basket’s U19 boys’ team capped a successful U19 Swedish championship tournament Sunday at Ullvi with an 81-49 shellacking of Wetterbygden.

With the win, Köping finished second in the two-day tournament with a 2-1 record. Alvik won the event going unbeaten over both days.

Held in both KB-hallen and Ullvi, the USM tournament featured four teams, Köping, Alvik, Central Basket and Wetterbygden.

Köping opened the weekend on Saturday morning with a comfortable 72-59 win over Central. In the evening game, Alvik proved to be too difficult and Köping fell 83-71after an incredible fourth quarter comeback which saw Köping claw back from a 70-36 deficit.

Leading scorers for Köping: Luka Babic, 75 points, Simon Klaasma 63 points, Ghaith Kayali 37 points.

Luka Babic was voted as tournament MVP by the coaches.
